The slip dress is one of the most versatile items you can have in your closet. Whether you have a classic black one, a velvet one for fall, or a satin midi like mine, I truly believe there are endless ways to style a slip dress.
I am excited to be partnering with Nordstrom in today’s post to show you three different ways to style a slip dress! I picked up this mauve satin slip dress during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and am so glad I did. It has already gotten worn several times and I love that it is bump-friendly. Each look in today’s post can be worn for different occasions which shows just how versatile this piece really is. The looks below are just three ways to style a slip dress but leave me a comment to let me know if you want me to share more. I already have a few more looks in mind!
CLASSIC
The first way I am styling this slip dress is with this incredible light pink duster. Talk about another versatile piece to have in your closet! You will definitely be seeing more of this jacket in the future but I’ll keep my focus on the slip dress for now. I have always been a big believer in monochromatic looks. Sticking to a neutral color palette like this is a foolproof way to looking chic.
CASUAL
You don’t have to sacrifice style when wanting to dress comfortable and casual. I’m officially 31 weeks pregnant today so trust me when I say comfort is the number one thing on my mind when getting dressed these days. I love taking nicer pieces like this satin slip dress and mixing them with something more casual and laid back. For this casual look I draped the most beautifully embroidered denim jacket over the dress and paired it with flats. This look could not be any easier to put together and is perfect for meeting up with friends for lunch. You could easily wear a plain denim jacket to achieve this look but this embroidered one I recently picked up from Nordstrom is just too good and adds that much more character to the outfit.
DATE NIGHT
This slip dress can effortlessly be transitioned from day to date night by simply swapping the jacket and shoes. A black moto jacket is a must for fall and this faux leather one is under $100! Draping the jacket over your shoulders provides an edgy vibe to the outfit and the black mules dress it up without trying too hard. I’ve been wearing these black mules with everything lately! They also come in red and grey and are so comfortable (I love a chunky heel!).
More Slip Dresses
All of the pieces you see in today’s post can be found at Nordstrom. A couple of the things I love most about shopping at Nordstrom is their free shipping and how easy their return policy is (it’s free, too!). Knowing what size to order is not always easy (especially when you’re pregnant!) so I love that I can exchange a piece for a different size hassle-free. I am wearing a medium in the slip dress. I would have ordered a small if I wasn’t pregnant. Nordstrom has a huge selection of slip dresses to choose from so I rounded up a little over a dozen of my favorites below!
Which outfit was your favorite? Do you want to see more ways to style a slip dress? Leave me a comment and let me know! The husband and I are headed to San Antonio today for a last getaway before baby/birthday trip for me. I can’t believe this will most likely be our last trip together before we become PARENTS (what?!). I plan on relaxing as much as possible. From what I hear I won’t be doing much of that two months from now… 🙂
Thanks for reading! Have a great week!
