6 Steps to an Easy Summer Look

This post is sponsored by Sears. All opinions are my own.

dallas-style-blog-the-fashion-hours-sears-summer-7596 dallas-style-blog-the-fashion-hours-sears-summer-7600Here in Texas the summer heat goes from hot to unbearable in about five seconds. When getting dressed on the weekends, I find myself digging through my closet for the lightest pieces possible to wear so I don’t suffocate if I go sit on a patio somewhere or take my dog to the park. Today I am showing you how to create an easy summer look that is sure to survive any heat wave! You more than likely already have a few of these items in your closet but even if you want to start fresh, my entire outfit is UNDER $100! Let’s get started…

#1 A Lightweight Summer Dress Your dress is the base of the outfit, so you want to make sure it is something you can layer pieces over. You can go with a long or short dress but I recommend buying one that is flowy (stay away from skintight and clingy!) like this Bongo Strappy Babydoll Dress from Sears (which by the way is only $11.99!). I love the subtle ruffles on the bottom of the dress and the open back is perfect for summer! Not only will I be wearing this dress out and about, it is perfect to wear over a swimsuit!

Especially since I just found this Bongo one at Sears that has to be one of the SOFTEST shirts I have ever owned. The great thing about this shirt is that you can wear it open over your dress and if it gets too hot, you tie it around your waist which not only adds to your look, cinching it at your waist can help create an hourglass figure!

For summer I am really loving woven hats. Whether it is a fedora, Panama Hat, etc. I think a woven hat is essential to an easy summer look. Different hats look great on different people, so I recommend finding one you feel most comfortable in and not necessarily what you think is most “on trend” at the moment. The one I’m wearing is from Sears and they had several styles and colors to choose from!

#4 Mirrored Sunglasses There is something about mirrored sunglasses that takes a look from cute to amazing. There are tons of colors to choose from but I always gravitate towards blue! It seems like every style of sunglasses has come out with mirrored frames. Whether you go with classic silver or gold, or get a little more adventurous and try a blue or pink, mirrored sunglasses are essential to your summer look!

dallas-style-blog-the-fashion-hours-sears-summer-7657 dallas-style-blog-the-fashion-hours-sears-summer-7698#5 Beaded Jewelry I fell in love with this set of turquoise, red, white, and gold beaded bracelets I found at Sears the other day. I love the contrast between the red and turquoise that brings such a beautiful pop of color to the outfit and ties in the blue mirrored aviators and juicy watermelon color of the dress. I’m not sure what it is about summertime that makes me want to start an #armparty and stack on bracelets! I chose to only wear bracelets but a layered beaded necklace would also look great!

Whether you throw on some trendy lace-up sandals, espadrilles, or a pair of flip-flops like me, wearing flat shoes of some sort is key to pulling off this easy summer look!dallas-style-blog-the-fashion-hours-sears-summer-7737 dallas-style-blog-the-fashion-hours-sears-summer-7687That’s it! So easy, right? Leave me a comment and let me know what your go-to summer look is!
