So, it’s been over a week since I posted. I know. Not cool. But if I’m being completely honest, it just hasn’t felt right posting anything since our tragedy in Dallas last week. I’m not sure what the appropriate time to wait is when it comes to something as horrific as we witnessed in our own backyard, but I do know for me personally I felt the need to step away from the blog and social media for a few days. I was out to dinner Thursday night when the attack started. My best friend from college was in town from Denmark so we went out to Saint Ann for dinner and then across the street to Happiest Hour, literally about a mile away from the shooting. We were on the rooftop so we could see the police cars, ambulances, helicopters, heard gunshots… we ended up being evacuated and thankfully made it home safely. As heartbreaking and gut wrenching as this attack was, the way Dallas has come together and the sense of unity that has been felt in the air has been really beautiful and encouraging. I don’t want to talk about it much more than that but I just wanted to let you know why I stepped away for a bit…
THE DRESS
But onto a happier topic! This dress. Off the shoulder, blue and white stripes, embroidery detail… this is a recipe for a really cute dress. I love how this dress is on the longer side (midi length). It could easily be an everyday dress but I picture it being worn at a little picnic sipping rosé in France or some beautiful countryside. I think I am just experiencing a bit of wanderlust at the moment but what’s new.
