I have really been slacking on the amount of happy hour posts I’ve been sharing so I am officially vowing to step up my happy hour game!
Today’s post is featuring the mexican restaurant, 7 Salsas. 7 Salsas has locations in Coppell and Irving and both feature incredible DAILY specials! Last Tuesday when the weather was unusually warm my husband and I decided to head up to 7 Salsas to enjoy their Irving location’s outdoor patio nestled up on a hill. The inside of the restaurant is split up between a main seating area and a separate bar area. I always prefer their covered patio as it has a pretty decent view.
Once you are seated, like any good Mexican restaurant, someone immediately brings you chips and salsa. The salsa at a Mexican restaurant can usually make or break the place for me. My favorite salsa is at Anamia’s and Mi Cocina (they are extremely similar) but I really enjoy 7 Salsa’s because it is served warm.
The Happy Hour drink options are served Monday-Friday from 4pm-7pm and ALL DAY Saturday. You have your choice between margaritas ($4), margarita swirls ($4.50), flavored margaritas ($4.95), beer ($2.50), wine ($4), sangria ($3), Jose Cuervo shots ($2.50), and wells ($2.50). Not a bad selection, right? I tried the sangria which was OK. It is made with sangria wine, pineapple juice, orange juice, rum, and grenadine. It was a little on the sweet and fruity side for me. I have had their frozen margaritas before and enjoyed those much more.
Since it was Tuesday we ordered the $4.99 Enchilada Dinner which was the special for the day. You have your choice of beef, chicken or cheese enchiladas and several sauces to choose from. I ordered one chicken enchilada with the jalapeno cream sauce (spicy and delicious!) and one cheese enchilada with queso sauce (cheesy, carb deliciousness). Other options are a sour cream sauce, ranchero sauce, and chile con carne sauce. You can see from the picture that the portions are generous for the $4.99 price tag. You can’t get a fast food meal for that cheap! I am looking forward to going back to try their other daily specials. Especially Monday for a $5 Chimichanga and $2 margaritas and Friday for half off appetizers!
