Baking with Mom

Happy Friday! You may remember last month when I talked about one of the new Coffee-mate creamers, Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookie and shared a #TBT memory from my childhood about how my mom and I would always bake chocolate chip cookies together. Well I decided to surprise my mom by telling her to come over after work one evening and had all of the ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies out when she got to my house! After a busy week for the both of us, decompressing in the kitchen together was just what we needed. It only took a few minutes for me to realize the tables have turned over the years and I was stuck doing the majority of the work. My mom chose to play with her grandpup and chime in with criticism here and there (as most moms do). Once the cookies were in the oven, I brewed a fresh pot of coffee and added a splash of Coffee-mate Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookie to our cups (it was a long day- I needed a double dose of chocolate!). It was nice to sit down and enjoy a sweet treat while chatting with my mom. And you know what the best part was? She approved of the cookies! Isn’t it funny how no matter how old we get, we still seek our parents’ approval?
