Happy Friday! The girls and I recently had the opportunity to partner with Le Metier de Beaute and Neiman Marcus Fort Worth for a fun day of facials, expert makeup applications and a masterclass taught by the Global Director of Color & Training for Le Metier de Beaute, Ivan Castro. It was such a fun afternoon and I learned SO much!
20’s: ME // 30’s: Style of Sam // 40’s: So Heather // 50’s: The Middle Page
We started with a mini-facial using all Le Metier de Beaute products. It is amazing how cleansed and nourished your skin feels afterwards and I loved how educational it was! One of my main takeaways from the facial (that I had no clue about!) was:
DON’T PUT YOUR DAILY MOISTURIZER ON YOUR NECK!
Like, what? Did you know that? We were told that it can actually weigh your skin down and to only use creams! I have quickly become obsessed with their Neck and Décolleté Firming Crème. It is definitely an investment but a little goes a long way and I am convinced it is already making a difference.
After the facial, I sat down with an experienced makeup artist who customized a look for me using some of their new products. I fell in love with their After Glow Foundation because I felt like it gave me just that, a glow! I always love a glowy look but especially during the summer. They also used the After Glow Blush that comes in four different shades and is half blush half highlighter! The colors are gorgeous!
Once our makeup was applied we sat down with Ivan Castro for a private masterclass and delicious food courtesy of Neiman Marcus. This makeup expert is not only responsible for creating some of the Le Metier de Beaute products, but he’s worked with some major celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Rihanna (NO BIG DEAL, RIGHT?!). Watching how he applies makeup and mixes colors together inspired me to branch out and experiment with eye shadow (I usually don’t wear any or have a very neutral solid color). I was happy to see the steps he takes when applying blush, bronzer and highlighter are what I do! The way he layered it was:
- Bronzer
- Highlighter
- Blush
He recommended blending the highlighter as much as possible to achieve a natural look (nobody wants to look like they drew a shimmery line on their face!). Another big takeaway from the day for me was his key tip for applying blush:
As you get older, focus on applying blush a little higher and closer to the middle of your face. This will give the illusion of a firmer and younger look!
Such a simple tip that made complete sense but I would have never thought about it! It was such a fun afternoon and I am so glad I was introduced to this brand. I linked some of the products I’ve been using and from our day below and can’t wait to try their “Perfector” after the baby is born (I was told not to use this product while pregnant since there is retinol in it). Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
