DALLAS SERIES: All Things Harwood District

In case you missed it I recently launched my ULTIMATE GUIDE TO DALLAS where I shared some of my favorite places to eat, drink, shop, stay and more! To celebrate this guide and all things Dallas, I’ll be sharing a Dallas-focused blog post every other Thursday. You can comment with any topic requests you have but to kick things off I wanted to focus on an area of Dallas that has so many great restaurants, a cute coffee shop and fun places to enjoy a cocktail or two! If you’re not familiar with the Harwood District, definitely add this area to your list of places to visit in Dallas! Here’s a peak into what they have and what I recommend…

MERCAT BISTRO

This contemporary European-style bistro will make you feel like you left Dallas and stepped into Paris (I haven’t been to Paris but I imagine this is what cafes look like). I love how intimate the inside of the restaurant is for a glass of wine and cheesy pasta but the covered patio is a must for brunch! The marble tables and classic bistro chairs are the perfect setting to sip your coffee (or Peche Mignon – a brunch cocktail I highly recommend) and indulge in decadent pastries and croissants or a heavy but delicious Croque Madame.

Monday-Wednesday 5-9pm is Pasta Night where they do fresh tagliatelle pasta flamed table-side (literally in a huge block of cheese) and Vino Tuesday 5-7pm is 1/2 off select wines!

SAINT ANN

Saint Ann is an oldie but goodie for brunch or dinner but I personally like it best for cocktails al fresco. The patio is surrounded by trees and twinkly lights and they occasionally have live music. I think it’s a good spot to start a girls night with wine and appetizers!

Happy Hour is Monday-Thursday 4-7pm – $6 bites, $4 craft beers, $3 domestic beers, $6 house cocktails and house wines. Mondays are half-priced select bottles of wine and Friday from 5-7pm they offer a charcuterie board and 2 wine flights for $40!

DOLCE RIVIERA

I’ve only eaten at Dolce Riviera once for brunch and attended a couple of events there but it is such a beautiful restaurant! Much like the feeling you get of being in France at Mercat, you get that feeling at Dolce. The moment you walk through the tree lined entrance you feel like you stepped into Italy. The patio is huge with plenty of seating areas to eat or just enjoy a cocktail by the fountain or open window bar. Definitely seems like a great date night spot!

Happy Hour is every Thursday from 4-7pm. $6 cocktails, $8 wine, $4 beers and complimentary bites in the bar, lounge and garden!

MAGNOLIAS: SOUS LE PONT

This coffee shop is tucked away on a quiet street behind some pretty big high-rise office buildings. It’s hard to miss it though because the outside of the building is a gorgeous teal color! I love how cozy it is inside. It almost feels like it’s underground so it’s a good spot to get some work done!

THE GROVE

The Grove is a great place to hang out on a nice day with a group of friends! They have tons of outdoor games, hammocks, sand volleyball courts and a cute little food truck and stand serving a few food options and drinks! Dogs are welcome and they have happy hour ALL DAY EVERY DAY! Click here for the full list of specials.

HAPPIEST HOUR

If you live in Dallas and haven’t been to Happiest Hour it’s time to go. This is a great spot to visit any time of day or night! It is the largest patio bar and lounge in Dallas and their rooftop deck is the perfect spot to enjoy cocktails with friends and experience Dallas views at night. They have tons of TV’s inside and outside so it’s definitely a great spot to go with a group to watch a game! Huge menu and tons of drink options.

Happy Hour is Sunday-Friday 4-6pm $3.50 domestic pints, $5 house wines, wells and froze! There is a DJ Thursday-Saturday 10pm-2am.
