Happy weekend! I am so excited to share my easy, everyday makeup routine with you! How I do my makeup and what makeup I use seems to be a frequently asked question so I figured it would be best to create a blog post with each product I use, how I use it, what I like about it and where you can order it! The majority of products I use are drugstore but there are a couple you’ll see that aren’t and I’ll tell you whether or not they’re worth spending the money on…

EASY, EVERYDAY MAKEUP ROUTINE

FIRST PREP YOUR FACE…

Before I put on any makeup I put on some sort of moisturizer, serum or sunscreen. I recently replenished my favorite hydrating serum so I’ve been putting that on first thing in the morning and then this sunscreen that acts as a primer for the days I know I’ll be in the sun a lot or at the pool. If not, I don’t worry about it too much since the CC cream I use is SPF50!

Once I’m ready to put on makeup I apply the LUMI Glotion or this Beauty Blur Skin Tone Optimizer (the BODY BLUR is amazing too if you haven’t tried it…). My skin can be on the dry side so I always try to make sure it is hydrated before applying foundation. The Lumi Glotion also provides a subtle glow which is great for summer!

FOUNDATION

So I’m not sure if this is weird but I mix my foundations. I like to have good coverage but also don’t like too heavy of makeup especially in the summer. I love the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation and have used that for years! For a while I was mixing it with this lighter weight foundation from Makeup Forever but since it ran out, I mix the Double Wear with It Cosmetics CC Cream. I have used this CC cream for several years now and love it. It’s SPF 50 (sun protection is so important) and it has a really nice finish. A lot of days I only wear CC cream!

So what I’ll do is pour a little of the Double Wear and a squirt of the CC cream. If you watched my Instagram Story you know I have a very dark shade (color: RICH) that I add anytime I’m pretty tan. Sometimes I’m pale, sometimes I’m tan and I don’t want to buy multiple shades of the same foundation so I’ve liked this way of doing things for the last few years. 🙂

I’ll gently mix that up with this makeup brush and apply to my face. Sometimes I use a beauty blender but mostly use the brush. Get the brush with cleansing mat HERE!

COLORS: I wear 3N2 WHEAT in Double Wear and currently have the CC cream in MEDIUM TAN as well as RICH 

CONCEALER

I know a lot of people that use this concealer and honestly there’s a reason. It’s really good. I used the NYX concealer for the longest time which I thought was pretty good but this Shape Tape is pretty amazing. I just feel like it instantly brightens my face and covers my dark circles really well. You’ll notice a lot of product comes out on the applicator but I just always try to use a little bit and apply it in a triangle. I’ll put a little down the middle of my nose as well.

I use this baby beauty blender to blend it in (the set is only $9.99 with free 1-day shipping!). Again that might be weird but I just feel like it’s easier to control! Either beauty blender will work fine though. Make sure your beauty blender is DAMP. I squeeze mine under a running faucet a few times, squeeze it again and then press it against a towel before using. Then gently dab the concealer under your eyes. I use this loose setting powder on top of the concealer. You can dust this on with a powder brush or use the same beauty blender to press in (which I think is more effective!). 

CONTOUR/BRONZER

Next I take this Wonder Stick to contour my cheeks. I’m no Kardashian so don’t expect mega contouring tips from me… I just draw a line from the side of my face along my cheek bone then dab it in with my finger. I follow that with bronzer on the same line and bronzer on either side of my forehead near my hairline, on my jawline and lightly on my neck.

HIGHLIGHTER

I’m honestly not crazy about the highlighter I have right now. I had a better one but it shattered and just haven’t messed with buying something new. I’ve been using the Lumi glow highlighter and while it’s not very pigmented, it’s what I’ve been using the last few months. I just lightly dust it on my cheekbones (above the bronzer) and a little on my nose.

BLUSH

I got this palette in the mail forever ago and loved the bronzer and highlighter from it. The blush is on the shimmery side but it’s grown on me a lot and I actually love it for summer! I can’t seem to find it anywhere but it’s available at Walgreens HERE! Another great blush I like that is part of a palette is by Stila and you can get it HERE!

EYESHADOW

I usually keep my eyes super simple and will put on this eyeshadow in Easy Baked that I think is so pretty and probably looks good on everyone! If I’m in a hurry a lot of times I’ll just brush on one of the shades from the lumi highlighter palette. 

Makeup hack: highlighters and bronzers make great eyeshadows! I’m all about neutral and natural makeup and bronzer and highlighters always look pretty on eyes!

MASCARA

There are so many mascaras out there but I’ve been using the Voluminous one and really like it. I curl my lashes then apply lash primer before and the mascara immediately after (I don’t let the primer dry).

EYELINER

I use a liquid eyeliner and love it! I barely wing my eyeliner and feel like it’s fairly easy to do with this drugstore eyeliner. Another eyeliner I loved was this one that has a felt tip so you’re less likely to mess up! 🙂

BROWS

I could honestly use some recommendations in the brow department… I haven’t found a brow pencil I’m crazy about but need to try more out. Lately I just use this brow mascara to make them look a little fuller!

SETTING SPRAY

If you don’t use a setting spray I highly recommend starting to! I love the NYX Dewy setting spray but this one from Urban Decay is a game-changer! I truly saw a very noticeable difference when I first started using it (probably a year ago). It keeps your makeup on ALL DAY and it even held up on days where I was sweating or on the beach, etc. It’s a little pricier but I think it’s worth it and since you only use a couple spritzes each time you use it, it’ll probably last a while!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray AMAZON / SEPHORA / ULTA / NORDSTROM

LIPLINER, LIPSTICK AND GLOSS

So most days after setting spray, I’m out the door and hopping in the car. I’ll throw on this chapstick before going into the office but nothing fancy. For days I want to look a little nicer whether it be for an event or date night with Ita, I’ll apply lip liner and lipstick. Depending on my outfit I may wear a different lip color (I love a red lip every now and then!) But lately I’ve been doing this combo.

I don’t over line my lips but I barely go a little over right under the middle of my bottom lip and barely over line the middle of my top. Definitely don’t go overboard but just barely over lining can make a big difference and really make your lips pop! 🙂

Ok I think that’s everything! Geesh. I feel like that seems like a lot but I swear I do this in less than 10 minutes. While this is an easy, everyday makeup routine, just for the record I DO NOT do my makeup every day. A lot of days I work from home so I try not to wear any makeup those days just to let my skin breathe. I do love how this makeup combination looks though because it gives a very natural, bronzey look!
