Fruit Pizza Recipe

Y’all! It’s honestly borderline sinful I haven’t shared this fruit pizza recipe with you after seven years of blogging! I’ll eventually update with this post with more professional photos but I knew I couldn’t keep this fruit pizza recipe from you any longer so iPhone photos will just have to do for now. This is something my brother and I would always ask my mom to make when we were younger and I have been making myself since college! It’s the perfect dessert to take to a barbecue or serve for any summertime gathering. If you’re still social distancing like we are, trust me when I say there is no shame in making it just for you and the fam to enjoy at home… I promise you’ll have to hold yourself from eating the whole thing!

While you can make fruit pizza in any shape and design to suit any occasion, I think an American Flag with strawberries and blueberries is a must for the 4th of July! It’s a cute and delicious way to bring a little patriotism to your cookout and it’s super easy to make. Check out the recipe below for instructions on how to make this fruit pizza recipe.

How To Make a Fruit Pizza

Use fingers to spread cookie dough into a rectangle.
Bake according to package.

Make cream cheese mixture and spread on top of cookie. Make sure cookie has cooled completely or it will melt!

Start adding your fruit. Start with blueberries for American Flag.

Once all fruit is added to cookie, melt strawberry jam then drizzle on top of fruit. It’s best to only put it on top of fruit and not the cream cheese or it will get mushy faster.

That’s it! Cut a slice to enjoy or take to your next barbecue!

FRUIT PIZZA

This family favorite is a must in the summertime! Get creative with different cookie dough shapes and fruits for a different take on this cold dessert!
Servings 20 people

Ingredients

  • 1 package Pillsbury cookie dough
  • 1 package (8 oz) Cream Cheese (softened) I use 1/3 fat
  • 1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 10 Strawberries (may need more or less)
  • 1/4 cup Blueberries
  • 2 Tbsps. Strawberry Jam

Instructions

  • Gently spread cookie dough onto a baking sheet in rectangular shape using fingers (use parchment paper underneath if you plan on transferring to another platter). It's best to let cookie dough sit out for a little bit so it is easier to spread. Do not use a rolling pin like you would with homemade cookie dough.
  • Bake cookie dough in oven according to package.
  • In bowl mix softened cream cheese, cool whip, powdered sugar and vanilla then set aside.
  • Thinly slice strawberries for topping.
  • Once cookie is out of oven and cooled, spread cream cheese mixture on top. *Must wait until cookie is cooled!
  • Place blueberries in top left corner and strawberries in horizontal lines for American flag or do your own design!
  • Melt strawberry jam (20-30 seconds) and drizzle on top of fruit. I use a spoon to spread on tops of strawberries and blueberries. This gives the fruit pizza a nice glaze.
  • Place in fridge for at least 1 hour before serving. Best eaten within 24 hours!

I can’t wait to hear how your fruit pizzas turn out! Definitely tag me on Instagram or comment here if you make it and give me your honest thoughts. Hope you enjoy!!
