I love awards season. All of the most talented people in film under one roof looking unattainably flawless and dressed to the nines in top designer gowns and tuxes leaving us viewers at home watching in awe. There were several stunners at this awards ceremony along with multiple A-list actors who came up short. Take a look at my Best and Worst dressed stars of the night and let me know what you think!
THE BEST
Olivia Wilde is unbelievable in this Gucci gown. How is it possible to look this good pregnant??
Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive head to toe lace.
Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie was perfection in Gucci.
Is Kate Beckinsale ever not breathtaking? This Zuhair Murad gown shows off her amazing body.
Probably one of the most talked about star’s of the night (with good reason) was Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren. I don’t know many people who can pull off a cape at a major award’s ceremony but Lupita did it effortlessly.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Taylor Swift look better. This Carolina Herrera gown was classy and mature without looking old. She looked beautiful. (And is anyone else just happy she didn’t wear another gold sparkly number?!)
THE WORST
What. were. you thinking. This Stephane Rolland gown definitely made a statement down the runway but should have never made it to the red carpet. Paula Patton you are one of the most naturally beautiful people in Hollywood- please step up your fashion game!
Hayden Panettiere wore Tom Ford and it unfortunately did not work out. This gown and brooch detail was not age appropriate and did not look as great as it should be for being Tom Ford. Rumor has it that Tom Ford did not dress Hayden but she bought the dress at retail…
Lena Dunham in Zac Posen was a step up from her Prada dress at the Emmy’s but this fit is not flattering at all on her. I am a big fan of hers but am still waiting for her to get it right on the red carpet. The work that went into the construction of this Zac Posen gown is amazing but is not right for Lena’s body type at all.
Jennifer Lawrence wore Dior Haute Couture. I love her to death but she can do so much better. She is an Academy Award Winner AND was nominated for Best Supporting Actress Sunday night (which she won). There has to be a better dress. I also felt her makeup was a little heavy. Did anyone think of The Little Mermaid when they saw her? Don’t get me wrong, she is always beautiful but I am definitely looking forward to seeing what she chooses for the Academy Awards.
Shine Bright Over 40
Robin Wright (Age 47) in Reem Acra and Naomi Watts (Age 45) in Tom Ford sparkled in their gowns Sunday evening. They are both flawless and ridiculously in shape for their age. So happy Robin Wright won Best Actress for her role on House of Cards- if you haven’t seen it, start your Netflix binge now!
And the Winner for the Coolest Look of the Night goes to…
Emma Watson definitely turned heads in her Dior Haute Couture dress and pants look. I love her fashion sense and although there were mixed feelings about this look, I think this fashion risk definitely paid off. Not only was she super cool, she was probably the most comfortable girl there.
