How To Wear the Snakeskin Print Trend

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but snakeskin print is EVERYWHERE and one of the hottest trends for fall. Animal prints in general have been making such a splash in the fashion world this year and that is most certainly continuing into the fall season. While I love a good leopard midi skirt as much as the next girl (and have a post all about them coming to the blog soon), I have been so drawn to snakeskin pieces lately and wanted to share with you how to wear the snakeskin print trend!

I know at first glance this may seem like a harder trend to try, but I promise there are so many different snakeskin print pieces out right now you are sure to find one to dip your toe in the water. I am rounding up some of my favorite snakeskin print pieces I found at Nordstrom at the bottom of this post ranging from ankle booties and purses to jackets and dresses along with this neutral outfit for fall!

When wearing something with a snakeskin print I think it’s best to keep the rest of the outfit simple. I fell in love with this faux leather zip mini while shopping at Nordstrom the other day and knew I could find several different ways to style it. In today’s outfit I went with a simple lightweight sweater and my favorite pair of ankle booties for a more neutral look. You can never go wrong with a neutral look and this snakeskin miniskirt gives the outfit just a little more personality and edge without being over the top or busy.

You could easily style this skirt with a chunkier knit turtleneck or even go for a lightweight blouse with heels. I am such a fan of this $39 knit sweater I’m wearing and it comes in six colors! Basics like this are so great for mixing and matching with other pieces in your wardrobe. As far as the skirt goes I would definitely size down. I am normally a 26 and actually got a 24 in this skirt. I am sure the 25 would have fit me better (this one is a little snug) but that’s the only size they had in store. I have found that most Blank NYC skirts I need to size down. You can shop the skirt here online where they have more sizes to choose from! Just a heads up it’s selling out quick!

SUSTAINABLE STYLE

Unfortunately my Treasure & Bond hat is sold out but I am going to link it here just in case it gets restocked! I picked it up during the Anniversary Sale and will be wearing it a lot this fall. I recently learned Treasure & Bond is one of several sustainable brands found at Nordstrom. Nordstrom is now making it easier than ever to shop and support “Sustainable Style” by featuring dedicated pages to: Sustainably Sourced Materials, Responsibly Manufactured and Gives Back. I don’t know about you but I always feel really good about my purchases when I know it is contributing to someone in need. Toms was the first brand I really knew that did this years ago (they provide a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of shoes purchased) but now so many other brands have developed a similar philanthropic business model (for instance every Treasure & Bond purchase supports programs that empower young people).

I would definitely recommend checking out the Sustainable Style section of the Nordstrom website to get more familiar with some of the other brands who give back, use sustainably sourced materials and responsibly manufacture.
