I am finally getting around to sharing my recent trip to Cabo along with all of the outfits I wore! Since we stayed at two different properties during our stay I figured it would be best to break our trip into two blog posts. These places are entirely different from one another but both with equally as beautiful views (theyâre right next door to each other). Mar Del Cabo is a quaint boutique hotel whereas Grand Velas Los Cabos is a luxury all-inclusive resort. Iâll share more on Grand Velas soon but letâs dive into what to expect when staying at Mar Del Cabo!
THE HOTEL
Mar Del Cabo is a boutique hotel in San Jose Del Cabo located right on the beach. I was told this is one of the oldest properties in Cabo but was recently renovated and bought out by Velas Resorts to make it âMar Del Caboâ. Every inch of this property is charming with its winding walkways covered in tile and bright bougainvillea. I honestly felt like I had stepped into Greece because everything is painted a crisp white with blue tiles and blue doors. It definitely was not your typical hotel and I loved that about it!
The lobby is small but sits up high overlooking the rest of the property and ocean. There is a pool table and living room type set up that seemed perfect for hanging out.Â
THE ROOMS
The rooms are essentially mini apartments because they have a living room, dining room and kitchen! The room we stayed in was two bedrooms and two bathrooms (I was in one room and Lynlee was in the other). I feel like this is a great option if staying with friends or family because you can have the privacy of a room while still being able to hang out together in the rest of the place. This is not an all-inclusive hotel so also if you wanted to buy any groceries you could cook or at least have drinks and snacks on hand in the room. I had a couple of family trips like this growing up and it definitely helps save a few dollars if you donât want to go out for every meal.
THE FOOD
When you stay at Mar Del Cabo the stay includes a complimentary breakfast. It is a seated breakfast, not a buffet. I personally LOVE Mexican breakfast buffets but really enjoyed the breakfasts at Mar Del Cabo! They have a little of everything but the avocado toast and acai bowl were both beautiful and delicious. And you can always count on Mexico to have fresh squeezed orange juice – so good.Â
We went off property for dinner at Flora Farms. I highly recommend getting a reservation there if you plan on visiting Cabo. We took an Uber from our hotel and I want to say it took around 20 minutes. Iâm not gonna lie, it was a little scary at one point because we went down a windy dirt road that was pitch black that looked really sketchy but Flora Farms was at the bottom. With as popular as that place is youâd think thereâd be some lights leading the way down but there werenât. I would get there 30 minutes before your reservation or plan on hanging out after because they have a cute shop, market, garden and usually live music! I just loved how it felt like its own little world and everything was so laid back. We ordered the pizza and house wine!
THE POOL
Since the beach is not swimmable (most Cabo beaches are not swimmable) we spent most of our time by the pool looking out at the ocean. The spicy margaritas and mojitos were delicious and the food we had by the pool was great too! Again this place has a much more secluded vibe to it. Since we visited in the low season we were basically the only people there. I kind of loved feeling like we had the place to ourselves but I know some people prefer being at busier resorts so just wanted to make sure I shared!
