{Mustard} Sweater Weather

Sweater weather is here! We are finally getting some cooler temps here in Dallas which means it is time to fully embrace fall fashion. I will be sharing four “sweater weather” inspired looks over the next two weeks that are budget friendly and easy to recreate. All of these looks were shot by Grapevine based photographer, Angela of Ansley Beth Photography. Ansley Beth Photography specializes in portraiture photography using natural light and has experience with everything from high school seniors to weddings to styled shoots. She is also a lover of all things fashion so it was great to team up with her to bring you these looks! A special thank you to Get Glam by Sam for doing my makeup and giving me glamorous waves for this photoshoot!

I was a little hesitant when I grabbed this mustard colored sweater to try on at Old Navy a few weeks ago. I loved the thick, cable knit design and the shorter long sleeves but just wasn’t sure if I could pull off that color. Do you ever have those moments? Or have a color that just does not look good on you? I have a few (ORANGE is not the new black in my wardrobe!), but mustard was always one of those borderline colors for me. Before I went to grab the navy version instead (my ultimate comfort zone color), I decided I would branch out and give this mustard shade a try (it was 50% off so why not embrace something different?). I wore this sweater over a simple white tee with an old pair of stretch skinny jeans and nude, suede heels and accessorized with a silver statement necklace and silver chain bracelet. I carried a gold studded oxblood handbag to add another fall shade to the look. This is a great outfit for grabbing coffee with a friend. If you are ever on Main Street in Grapevine, stop by the Main Street bakery and grab a coffee (I had a chai tea latte) and a cronut. SO good.
