Hi! I never did a recap of our trip to Austin a few weeks ago and wanted to share a few of the outfits I wore and tell you about the Archer Austin hotel we stayed at in The Domain! It was actually a work trip that I had Ita and Mila join me for so we had a day to ourselves once I got work out of the way!
We stayed at the Archer Austin which is a beautiful new hotel located in The Domain. The Domain is located in North Austin and if I’m being completely honest it doesn’t feel like Austin at all. It feels more like a Shops at Legacy except bigger and better in my opinion. There are tons of places to shop, restaurants, bars, etc. all in walking distance. The Archer is located right by Nordstrom (you can see it from the pool, ha!) and there is a Starbucks and Sprinkles Cupcakes right outside. So if you go, expect to see more chain type stores and restaurants and less of your unique and “weird” Austin.
Also next door is a CB2 which I am dying to go into. I have looked at their catalogues for years and have never seen an actual storefront of theirs so I will definitely be going in during our next visit! We plan to head back in August to see a musical my brother is directing. 🙂
As for the hotel itself I would highly recommend staying here. It had a welcoming staff and thoughtful touches throughout. I am a sucker for little treats and they had several of them. The most delicious caramels when you first checked into your room, brownies at turn-down service, and they even have his and hers slippers for you to keep! The mens slippers have mustaches on them and the women’s slippers are purple with lips on them. So cute!
We ordered room service for lunch one day so we could get some work done while Mila slept and Ita ate at the restaurant there several times while I was working and he loved everything he ate! Their happy hour is especially good offering $5 glasses of wine, beer and snacks and then $10 pizzas and other food options as well. My parents stayed at the Archer Austin last week as well (per my recommendation, of course) and they loved their dinner and breakfast there (and they can be picky!). 😉
The pool area has cabanas and a giant screen so it’s perfect for watching a game (how amazing would it be to hang out in the pool and watch the World Cup?!). We had the pool to ourselves when we went so we took over a cabana and had so much fun swimming with Mila. The pool is a giant circle which I’ve never seen before but we liked it!
We walked around a lot and had dinner at Sway. We’ve been to the main Austin location before and loved it so we had to go again since it was walking distance. My parents said they had gelato at Frost and that it was amazing. I’m pretty sure we have one here in Dallas as well so I will have to check it out for myself!
All in all it was a great stay and I can’t wait to visit again soon! Leave me a comment if you have any questions about our stay at the Archer Austin or any of the outfits I wore!
