The mini dress and over-the-knee boot look is a favorite of mine for fall. It’s a great way to transition a look into cooler weather and can easily be worn into winter by adding a pair of tights and a coat. Over-the-knee boots with an above-the-knee dress can at times be tricky to pull off without looking a little on the tacky side. I addressed a similar situation last year with this shorts and over-the-knee boots look. I think the key to keeping it classy (and not trashy) is to keep your top half covered up. This dress is a perfect example of that because it has a high neck and long sleeves. #keepinitclassy
This retro-inspired mini dress is from Free People and comes in FOUR different colors. I love this cherry shade but this dusty pink color was calling my name as well. I always fall in love with everything from Free People because of their effortless bohemian feel and the quality details you find on most of their pieces. For example these buttons. I have always been obsessed with fabric covered buttons like this and the fact that this dress has over a dozen of them down the front of the dress, on the puffy sleeves and the collar makes it that much better. I paired the dress with these suede under $100 over-the-knee boots and a black hat. If you are looking to make a bigger statement with your boots, I am completely obsessed with this Jeffrey Campbell pair and these snakeskin beauties (also Jeffrey Campbell)!
