Wow, it feels so good to finally share this with y’all! I feel like I’ve been keeping this secret forever and I’m so glad I can finally tell you that I’M PREGNANT WITH BABY #2!! We are so excited and Mila is very excited to be getting a little brother or sister soon! I am 17 weeks and due end of September. It’s been such a weird time we’re living in so I had honestly been struggling on when was the “right” time to share. I finally decided to do it this week because my bump is already so big I don’t think I could hide it anymore lol and I figured we could all use some happy news right now. I did a Q&A on Instagram Stories last night which I’ll save to a highlight but scroll down for a little more info on what’s been going on the last few months!
PREGNANT WITH BABY #2!
When did we find out?
So towards the end of January you guys may remember I came down with a stomach bug (or what I thought was a stomach bug). I basically couldn’t keep anything down for 2+ days and ended up at Urgent Care. I was convinced I ate bad kale or had caught some sort of bug because the throwing up literally did not stop. *Side note: I plan to be as real and detailed as possible with you throughout this pregnancy so just a heads up there may be some TMI moments! Anyway they wanted me to take a urine test to rule out if I was pregnant but I was so dehydrated that wasn’t possible. They gave me Zofran to try and stop the throwing up and wanted to send me to the ER for fluids and check a couple other things out. I ended up declining and thankfully was able to keep water down after taking the medication.
Fast forward a few days of still not feeling great and needing to take the medicine, I thought maybe I should take a pregnancy test… I was about to head to New York for Fashion Week and wanted to make sure I knew if I was before that trip. After three positive tests, it was clear I was pregnant and all that throwing up was not from food poisoning or a stomach bug!
I told Ita when he got home… he cried. 🙂
When are you Due?
September 26th
Do you know what you’re having?
Not yet! We are planning to find out at our next sonogram (20 weeks) and do a gender reveal at home. 🙂
Are you hoping for a boy or girl?
We don’t care! A healthy baby is all that matters to us.
Have you been sick at all?
Yes… a lot. Pretty much nonstop since end of January (around 4 weeks pregnant). I was sick the first 14 or 15 weeks with Mila but this has been next level. Nausea, vomiting, dry heaving, headaches, hunger pangs, food aversions, fatigue… I also came down with the flu beginning of February which was pretty awful to go through while throwing up nonstop. I’ll have a first trimester recap blog post up next week where I go into detail with what I’ve experienced so far. It’s crazy how many different things you can experience those first few months of pregnancy and yet some women don’t feel any different at all. Every woman goes through something different (your pregnancy could look nothing like mine and you have zero side effects!) but I know I really enjoyed reading about other women’s experiences when I was pregnant with Mila. At the end of the day you’re experiencing these things because you’re growing LIFE inside of you so as awful as some days can be where it feels like it will never end, it will and you’ll have the most amazing little baby in your arms because of it!
Ok last question since this blog post is getting long but one of the most popular was asking about the real reason behind #DRYJANUARY! 😆
Despite what you may think, I didn’t find out I was pregnant until the END of January. So joke’s on me on that one… it’s obviously a blessing in disguise but in the moment I couldn’t believe it. 🙈
That’s all I’ve got for today! I’m going to share a First Trimester Recap on the blog in the next week or so but definitely let me know if there’s anything specific you want me to include! I want to include you all as much as possible throughout this pregnancy and be as open as possible! Leave any questions you have below in the comments and THANK YOU for those of you that have reached out to congratulate us. We are so grateful and appreciate it so much!! Can’t wait to go on this journey again with y’all!!
