My husband and I are both sushi lovers and we are both a little cheap frugal. Not always the best combination when wanting to go out for quality sushi.

The Blue Fish in Las Colinas has been me and my husband’s go-to place since we moved to Las Colinas three years ago. I was amazed to find such an affordable happy hour menu with such quality sushi. And more than that, such a large selection of happy hour items to choose from. They have 8 Rolls ranging from California to Eel & Avocado and 10 other food items like Sashimi, Mini “Ahi” Towers, Summer Rolls and Crab Potstickers all under $5! My husband and I enjoyed the Spicy Salmon Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll (my fave), and the Avocado Roll. Ask for a side of Spicy Mayo to dip or add to the top of your sushi rolls (you’ll thank me, I promise). If spicy isn’t your thing, well, I don’t know if this will work out…
We also had an order of the Salmon Tartar on Crispy Rice Cakes and the Seafood Tempura which included a piece of tempura battered shrimp, salmon, and white fish. The Salmon Tartar was DELICIOUS! The rice cake’s crunch was a nice contrast to the delicacy of the salmon. A great dish for the price.
All of their drink options are $4 and include Sapporo Draft, Bud Light Draft, Small House Sake (Hot or Cold), Well Drinks, and House Wine by the glass (White and Red). Both the House White and Red Wine were good and poured generously for the $4 price tag. Hot Sake is always a great choice and perfect once cold weather rolls around!
My only problem with this happy hour menu is that many of their items were half the price a few months ago. Draft Beer used to be $2, Rolls $4, some appetizers only $2, etc. Even though I was disappointed with the price increases after eating at this restaurant on a biweekly basis for the past 3 years, the prices are still great and extremely reasonable for what you’re served. More than that, The Blue Fish is a great social atmosphere to meet with friends for food and drinks and not break the bank!
