Picking up where I left off in yesterday’s New York Fashion Week recap post part one. Clearly my first two days were busy and it only sped up from there. Here’s a breakdown of days 3 and 4!
Day 3
Day 3 started with sitting front row at the Dan Liu fashion show. I wore a striped wrap skirt and an off-the-shoulder top with my favorite denim jacket. This striped wrap skirt is surprisingly good quality for its ridiculously low price tag. The skirt is currently on sale for less than $9! Insane. I highly recommend purchasing that one before it sells out.
After the show I had to run back to my hotel and pack so I could head to my new hotel. I could not believe my eyes when I pulled up to the lovely Fairfield Inn and realized it was across the street from one of the main Fashion Week venues! There were literally dozens of photographers camped out there all day and night. I quickly dropped off my bags at the front desk and headed to my second fashion show of the day, KYBOE watches. I know what you’re thinking… a watch fashion show? I thought the same thing too but I am so glad I went! It ended up being so much fun. The venue turned into a club with the bass so loud the seats were vibrating. It was a little cheesy but I thought they did a really good job creating a fun and upbeat atmosphere considering models were having to walk down the runway showing off watches instead of clothing. Kyboe was kind enough to gift me the watch you see below and you can shop their watches here.
After the show I noticed they were taping Fashion Police inside the venue. I decided to hang out and watch a little bit (I love watching E! News and all of the red carpet coverage…). It ended up that the E! staff was staying at my hotel so I got the chance to meet Brad Goreski and he was so sweet! I also ran into one of my favorite bloggers, Sara from Collage Vintage, who I had previously met at the rewardStyle conference. Such a sweet person with beautiful photography!
By the time I got back to my room, my other roommates had arrived as well. I stayed with my friends Jaime, Brooke and Becca (two other Dallas bloggers and a Dallas photographer!). We got dressed and caught the end of the Shopstyle event held at The Glass House with the most incredible view. I wore a light pink slip dress with a striped tank underneath and my new pair of Kristin Cavallari booties I picked up at a showroom the day before. This is a really easy look to recreate! A lot of people wear a basic white short sleeved tee underneath but I liked the idea of doing something a little different with the trend.
After the Shopstyle event it was off to have drinks with a group of fellow bloggers and then a handful of us went to a Giorgio Armani fragrance launch party hosted by Vogue. Talk about a fancy party. Unfortunately I didn’t snap any photos at the event but it was definitely very nice and we had a great time. Post Vogue party me and Dede headed to meet my roommates at Laduree Soho for wine in the most beautiful courtyard. I highly recommend going there for drinks or coffee and some macarons! We finished the night with (you guessed it) pizza. Nothing like going from a Vogue party to eating pizza on the street! Made me love my New York Fashion Week experience that much more.
Day 4
Sunday we got up and headed to a blogger brunch at the Haven Rooftop in the Sanctuary Hotel Times Square. It was such a gorgeous view and so nice to spend some time relaxing and chatting with fellow bloggers over mimosas. I wore a ruffled off-the-shoulder dress courtesy of Chicwish that has the prettiest light blue feather pattern and was so comfortable to walk around in. Shop that dress here.
That night was the Rosenthal Tee show at the Chelsea Pier. Such a gorgeous place to walk around at sunset and the show was incredible! So many gorgeous pieces I found myself trying to think of reasons why I could wear them! I wore a high low top from Zara that I felt like I could only really wear during fashion week. I paired it with a simple navy skirt, also from Zara, but I think a pair of slim navy trousers would have looked even better! After the show we went to dinner at the loveliest little restaurant in Greenwich Village called Duet. I loved the decor and ambiance and highly recommend ordering the brussels sprouts and fried cheese salad – so good!
