A Trendy Transition Piece for Fall + NYFW

It’s officially fall but here in Dallas it still very much feels like summer. Today’s look that I wore on my last full day at New York Fashion Week features a beautiful and trendy transition piece for fall. This faux-suede patchwork mini skirt is an ideal separate to add to your closet because you can wear it now and wear it later. It was still pretty warm in New York during Fashion Week so I paired it with a high neck sleeveless blouse and some strappy sandals. Once it gets cooler I can throw on a chunky knit sweater and pair of booties for an effortless fall look. Taking it a step further, once it really gets cold, add a pair of leggings underneath and some over the knee boots (clearly I have a lot of plans for this skirt). This faux-suede skirt is currently on major sale so I highly recommend grabbing it before the price goes back up. I rounded up a few other great faux suede skirts at different price points you can shop by scrolling down to the end of this post!

These photos were shot by Becca after attending the Louis Verdad presentation and after all of our hair appointments at Birchbox Soho. I’m not one to get super adventurous with my hair (although I wish I did) but I am so happy I went to Birchbox to get this messy fishtail crown braid. It was something different and frankly it was just really nice to have my hair up and out of the way in a presentable manner. Definitely ask for Adriana if you go and let her know I sent you!

The Dutch

After we got our braids we headed to a hip restaurant nearby called The Dutch per a recommendation from the lovely ladies at Birchbox. I loved the ambiance and the food (and rose) was fantastic. Dave Chappelle was sitting two tables away, too (NO BIG DEAL).

Once we finished our meal Jaime and I headed to the Leanne Marshall show. I was really excited for this show since I watched her on Project Runway back in the day and her designs were some of my favorite! The show was incredible and some of the pieces truly were breathtaking. Everything was so effortlessly pretty and whimsical. I was supposed to go to the Sherri Hill show after but unfortunately had to miss it due to time.

Later that night was the rewardStyle x Milk Makeup party at Milk Studios and then the Bloglovin’ Awards. I am saving that night’s look for another post that I will be sharing very soon! Make sure to take a look at PART 1 and PART 2 of my New York Fashion Week recaps if you haven’t already. If you want to give the faux suede skirt trend a try, shop these dozen I rounded up below!
