#BUMPLIFE

So I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not to talk about my pregnancy on the blog or not… or at least how much to share and how often. I know some of you could probably care less about it and I definitely don’t want to bore anyone! But at the end of the day, part of why I do this blog is to connect with you and share my experiences. Whether that’s a trip I take, a restaurant I visit, a new product I try, a dress I can’t live without… and now in this case, a baby on the way!

In just these short 17 weeks I feel like my life has changed so much and I know those feelings will continue to grow. I think I am getting to the point where I don’t feel sick and am really getting excited about this whole growing life inside me thing! I know there will be ups and downs along the way but I feel so much happiness going into this new chapter of my life and hope you’ll enjoy hearing about some of it along the way!

Which is why I’m starting #bumplife…

Basically when you visit the blog and see a post where the title starts with “#bumplife”, expect the topic to be about my pregnancy in some form or fashion. I just figured this would be a good way to let you know when I’m talking baby. I also want to cover pregnancy and baby topics YOU want to hear about which is why I want you to email me your questions! You can comment on the blog or just email me (make the subject “#bumplife”) any questions you have or any topic you want me to cover (hello@thefashionhour.com)!

For today’s #bumplife topic, I’m talking travel. Some of you may remember that I earned a trip to Aruba for making President’s Club for my day job. Ita and I were supposed to leave TODAY for that all-inclusive trip. I also had an 8-day family heritage trip planned to Cuba with my parents and aunt and uncle but had to back out of that as well… we had been planning this trip forever and I was so disappointed we couldn’t go. The reason we couldn’t go was because of the Zika Virus. The risk was just too high and my doctor basically said (in a nice way) that there was no way in hell I was going anywhere south of Miami while pregnant…

While it stinks to miss out on these trips, they are JUST TRIPS and in me and Ita’s eyes there was zero reason to take the risk. If you don’t know, the consequences of Zika for a pregnant woman and her baby are horrible and potentially life-threatening. If you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, definitely talk to your doctor and read up on the areas where Zika may be a risk!

Since our two main trips for the year were canceled, we decided it is a must we go somewhere in the U.S. for vacation and soon. While we are not 100% on where we’re staying, our plan is to fly to California and stay in a relaxing hotel on the beach. Ita grew up on the beach living in Israel and I pretty much need my beach fix at least once a year so we knew a beach vacation was a must. We’re hoping to fly into L.A. and then rent a car to drive down the coast. If you have any favorite beach spots in California feel free to leave them in a comment below as we are still trying to decide on where to stay!!

I have another doctor’s appointment coming up soon and will hopefully have some exciting news to share in my next #bumplife post (like whether we are having a BOY or a GIRL! ?)! It is all of a sudden driving me CRAZY not knowing and I’m not sure I’m going to be able to wait until the 20 week appointment… ridiculous I know but the curiosity is killing me!! Anyway, I have a Mother’s Day post hitting the blog tomorrow that I hope you’ll check out and DON’T FORGET to email me or leave a comment on what you want to see on #bumplife!

Thanks for reading!

Santa Monica is great for an LA beach, but the South Bay (Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach) is a little more laid back. Hotel del Coronado on Coronado Island in San Diego is beautiful and historic and on the beach.
