While it is far from cold in Dallas right now, this is one trend you do not have to wait for the weather to cooperate with. The cold shoulder top comes in all shapes and sizes. Blouse, tee, sweater, button down. You have a lot of options. In today’s post I am wearing a cold shoulder button down I picked up at T.J. Maxx a while back for under $30! I knotted it in the front (we all know I love tying my clothes in knots like this tee and this skirt) but once it cools off you could wear it as a tunic with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans. Everyone is always so excited to break out their sweaters when fall rolls around but unfortunately in Dallas, that would mean layering up when it’s still in the 90’s outside (no, thank you). A way I like to start dressing more “fall” without sweating to death (or getting strange looks) is to swap my sandals for a pair of ankle boots. The great thing about wearing little booties is that they go with everything! Whether you’re wearing shorts like I am or a casual dress or pair of jeans, adding a pair of ankle boots will have your outfit looking more fall in no time.
The pair of ankle boots I’m wearing are from Payless. I love the olive color but they also come in a cognac and black. They are a faux suede material and have a chunky heel making them very comfortable to walk in. They are currently on sale for only $29.99 so I highly recommend snagging a pair in your favorite color (or all of the colors, it’s nice to have options) before they sell out!
