The Fashion Hour’s Guide to Registering at Buy Buy Baby

It’s almost my due date! Can you believe it?! Ita and I have been trying to get everything in order as much as we can and make sure we have everything we *think* we need. I figured what better time than now to share my guide to registering at buybuy BABY!

This post is in partnership with buybuy BABY. All opinions are my own!

Registering at buybuy BABY was a no-brainer for us due to the overwhelming amount of friends and family who raved about their previous experiences there. After going through the process of registering there myself, I now see why. In today’s post I am giving you an inside look at what to expect when registering at buybuy BABY along with a few of our must-have items (be sure to watch the video at the end!).

Let’s start with the options of how to register at Buy Buy Baby:

  1. Call your local buybuy Baby to make an appointment
  2. Go to their website to make an appointment
  3. Start creating your registry online

Over the last two months Ita and I have made a few trips to buybuy BABY. When initially starting the registry process, we set up an appointment with one of their specialists who sat us down and talked us through how everything works. After a few minutes of getting our basic information, we were then greeted by our Buy Buy Baby registry consultant who took us through the store. As a reminder this is our first baby so Ita and I were pretty much clueless on everything we needed… more than that, even the things we knew we needed, how did we decide on which brand to register for? I remember looking at a wall of pacifiers thinking, “how in the world am I supposed to know which one is the best/will work best for her?”.

One of the wonderful things about having the consultant with you in this situation is that they make recommendations and let you know what is most popular, what is ranked the best, differences, etc. Ita and I were both blown away at the knowledge each and every employee had. Whether it was deciding on a mattress, a stroller (I think we talked to the guy for 45 minutes about strollers – it was amazing everything he knew), a car seat, you name it, the Buy Buy Baby consultant provided so much helpful information to assist us in choosing what would work best for us.

Top Items we Registered for:

For a first-time mom-to-be it was hard determining what we really *needed*. It can be easy to go overboard but here are what I think are must-have items to register for…

DockATot

I knew I wanted the DockATot the second I saw it. I can already picture us having her in it while hanging on the couch and know it will come in handy when we go to my parents house and can have her hanging out with us anywhere!

Diaper Bag

It’s probably not a surprise that I want a stylish diaper bag. It was important to me to register for a diaper bag that didn’t necessarily look like a diaper bag. I also wanted to make sure I picked something that Ita could throw over his shoulder that didn’t look too girly. Being the indecisive person I am, I registered for two diaper bags: the Skip Hop and Bella Tunno Boss Bag. I was so impressed with the selection of stylish diaper bags (also love the Honest backpack, the Rosie Pope backpack pictured below and the Ellen Degeneres one!). I linked them for you below.

4Moms Bath Tub

We picked this bath tub because it shows the temperature of the water. The last thing I want to do is be paranoid that I have the water too hot or too cold!

Car Seat

We registered for the UPPAbaby car seat. The reason we picked this one was because of all of the additional safety features it had like side impact protection. We also liked that you only have to press one button to release it and the installation is super easy (it literally clicks in!).

Baby Carrier

When we’re out and about and even around the house, I want Ita and I to be able to comfortably wear the baby. I’ve heard wonderful things about this Baby Bjorn and can’t wait to test it out!

Pack n’ Play

I know this Pack N’ Play is going to be used a ton over the next year or so. I love how easy it is to break down so we can easily throw it in the car to take to my parents house (I’m sure we’ll be spending quite a bit of time there!) :).

Diaper Pail

I was originally thinking this would be unnecessary but after hearing several people tell me how much easier it makes things I knew it was a must. This Munchkin diaper pail not only saves you from walking to the garage every time you change a diaper but it seals in and twists the diaper so there is no odor! This one comes with Arm & Hammer lavender-scented bags and holds 272 diapers!

Swing/Bouncer

From what I hear, a swing and/or bouncer is a must. I’ve heard some people say their baby loved the swing but hated the bouncer and vice versa. This swing and rocker combo seemed like a way to increase our odds of getting something she’ll actually like! I love that the swing has so many different speeds and settings and that you can easily pick it up and set it on the ground when you just want to use the bouncer! It can also connect to your phone to play music and show pictures or video – sounds pretty amazing to me!

Boppy Breastfeeding Pillow

My cousin told me about this Boppy Breastfeeding Pillow and how helpful it will be while breastfeeding. I can only imagine how difficult it might be to get comfortable and this Boppy breastfeeding pillow has a firm and soft side as well as an adjustable belt.
