Israel Update + Rebecca Minkoff & Karen Walker Giveaway

Happy Sunday, friends! I hope you enjoyed your weekend! I had a wonderful weekend here in Tel Aviv. I attended my first Bar Mitzvah then spent the rest of my time with one of my husband’s best friends while my husband went on a guys trip to a villa on the Sea of Galilee. We checked out the new Sarona Market (much like the Boqueria in Barcelona) where we sipped wine and ate the most delicious chocolate filled belgian waffle balls that were like puffy clouds of dough with puddles of chocolate in every bite… they were heavenly! We went out that evening to dinner and drinks in Jaffa then started our Saturday with an Israeli breakfast and a day at the beach. We even stumbled upon a foot volleyball tournament going on at the Port which was a lot of fun to watch. If you’ve never seen it before, just picture sand volleyball using everything but your hands. A lot of fun but extremely difficult!

My husband needed to attend a soccer game out there for work so we decided to head out a little earlier in order to get some sight-seeing in before the game. The stadium was only a few minutes from the famous Mahane Yehuda Market so we spent a couple of hours walking around, checking out the various vendors selling everything from fresh bread and baklava to spices and dried fruit. We stopped to eat malawach and jachnun (malawach is a type of fried bread and jachnun is a type of doughy pastry that originates in Yemen). You can follow along with my travels via Snapchat (username is “thefashionhour”)!

Malawach-Jerusalem Jachnun-JerusalemThe parking at the stadium for the game was so ridiculous (soccer games in Israel are insane!), we had to park across the highway at the mall. We conveniently grabbed a coffee inside before, which allowed me just enough time to run in a couple of stores and find the most beautiful culottes jumpsuit! If you caught my culottes look I recently shared you know I was just talking about having my eye on culottes-style jumpsuits. I couldn’t believe I found such an expensive looking piece for the equivalent of $35 (I paid in Israeli shekels) at Forever 21! I definitely can’t wait to shoot that look and share it with you all very soon! 🙂

Thank you for reading and have a great week!
