TARGET DENIM

This post is sponsored by Target. I received jeans from Target to complete a 14-day trial of their new denim. All opinions are my own!

Target-Style-DenimJeans. They come in all shapes and sizes and are a go-to piece in the majority of women’s closets. As big of a staple as they are in my closet, it is not always easy finding that perfect fit (and let’s face it, it’s ALL about the fit). Being a soccer player the majority of my life, I always struggled to find a pair that fit my thighs and my waist (not to mention my Cuban curves). Usually if a pair fit my thighs, there would be a big gap at the waist band and vice versa, if there were a pair that looked like they’d fit my waist, it was more than likely they were not making it over my thighs and backside (#thestruggleisreal). But when I do find a pair that slide on and hug in all the right places, there is a wave of accomplishment that comes over me that makes the search all worth it.

When Target reached out to me to try their new denim line coming out this month, I jumped at the opportunity. I am an avid Target shopper and SO that person that runs in for paper towels and leaves an hour later with 20 other items (and more than likely forgot the paper towels). I was tasked with a 14-day, behind-the-scenes trial of their brand new and improved denim. Target’s expert design team has completely changed their jeans from the hem up. I had the opportunity to try three different styles and was beyond impressed with the quality and fit. Here is a recap of my experience…

THE BOYFRIEND

I love the edgy look of a pair of Boyfriend jeans but always felt they never worked on my body shape. Every pair I tried didn’t have that “relaxed” fit and instead were too tight throughout the leg and the waist was always too big. I had my mind made up that this style of denim only worked for girls with long, skinny legs. When I saw that I received a pair of Boyfriend jeans from Target for this trial, I had very low expectations I could pull them off but to my surprise they actually fit! I was so happy I could finally wear this on-trend style of jeans and I am finding the more I wear them, the more I love them. Each day I put them on, I break them in a little more, creating that laidback, boyfriend jean look. Trying these jeans on showed me I need to step out of my comfort zone more and not assume certain styles of clothing won’t work on my body type. We all have our insecurities but I encourage you to at least try stepping out of your comfort zone and give different styles a chance. You never know what you may fall in love with!

THE MID-RISE JEGGING

When I think of jeggings, I think of literal spandex with a denim color painted on them. Doesn’t sound very cute, right? The new Target Mid-Rise Jegging is not your typical jegging. While they are made with 2% spandex to give that fitted feel, they fall more on the jeans side because of the great structure of the denim. I loved this pair of jeans for multiple reasons. The top of the jeans fit perfectly on my waist and left ZERO gap in the back (miracle!). I loved the slim fit all the way through the ankle and could not believe I finally found a pair of jeans that fit my height! I am about 5’5″ and struggle with jeans being too long but this pair was perfect. I also loved the roughed up look and stitching around the holes of the jeans. I’ve been wearing button-down shirts tucked in jeans with a pair of heels a lot lately and these are definitely now my go-to pair for pulling off that look!

THE MID-RISE SKINNY

The last pair of denim I tried were the Mid-Rise Skinnies. These were my FAVORITE pair. I felt these jeans fit my body type the best because they gave me that “oh, these are the ones” feeling the second I put them on. They hug in all of the right places and just feel good. It is obvious I felt the most confident in this pair of jeans because I have been wearing them nonstop! They are soft to the touch, comfortable to move around in, and the color of the wash is beautiful. This is the perfect pair of jeans to take from day to night. I have been running around in them all week with a pair of flats and a tee and then switching out my flats for heels when I go out at night. Comfort is a big deal to me because I want to feel confident whether I’m running errands or attending an event. I think if you are uncomfortable in what you’re wearing it will always show in your body language. This pair of jeans exceeded my expectations, so be prepared to be seeing a lot of them!

Target-Style-Blog Target-Denim-Fashion-Blogger Target-Denim-Skinny-Jeans Target-Style-Fashion-BlogI am so grateful to the Target Style Accomplice team that worked with me to find denim I would love and push myself to try new styles despite my insecurities. I played soccer too growing up and always run into the same problem. Especially with boyfriend jeans. I ran into that problem as I was trying them on yesterday! I have been looking for a pair too, I am excited to try the target pair. Hopefully they work for me like they did for you. Thanks for the helpful post
