Why I Love Walmart Online Pickup + Delivery!

Hey guys! Can you believe it’s already September?! I feel like the month of August flew by and now it’s officially baby month/moving month! Eek! To say things have been a little busy around here would be an understatement… which is exactly why I want to share a service that’s been saving me lately and I think a lot of you will find helpful if you’re not using it already!

We have been getting our groceries delivered for a while now but started using it more often back in March. I started paying closer attention to my receipts and realized I was getting some pretty bad up charges on every single item I was buying… not cool and not worth it!

I looked into Walmart’s Online Pickup and Delivery service and learned there is NO MARKUP on items and just a small delivery fee which was WAY more cost effective than what I had been doing. Needless to say I’ve been using the Walmart Online Pickup and Delivery service ever since and their new Express Delivery they’re offering now where you get your order in two hours or less (in select markets) has been amazing!

Just last week I was scrambling the day of Ita’s birthday to get everything I needed to make him a nice steak dinner at home AND I didn’t have a present for him… I know. Best wife ever, right? 🙈 Well, not only was I able to get everything I needed for the meal but I was also able to order his new AirPods at the same time and get those delivered with the groceries within a couple of hours! It seriously was such a lifesaver!

I don’t know about you but I find myself doing everything I can to make the most of my time and grocery delivery has 100% been one of those things that’s made a time-saving impact in my life. At first I was on the fence about someone else picking out my fruit and things like that but Walmart trains their associates to pick the freshest items and has 100% freshness guaranteed meaning if you’re not happy with your order, you can contact customer care for a refund. I also love that if a specific item I ordered isn’t available, they’ll choose a substitute of equal or BETTER value at no additional cost! Here’s how easy it is to use…

HOW TO USE WALMART’S ONLINE PICKUP AND DELIVERY SERVICE

  1. Go HERE or open your Walmart app to start shopping!
  2. Select your delivery time or select EXPRESS at checkout to get it in two hours or less!
  3. That’s it!

*We always do delivery but you can pickup your order as well. You just call when you arrive and they load it into your car so everything is 100% contactless!

Whether you feel like there’s never enough time in the day like me or not, I can honestly say online grocery shopping has helped me meal plan better and impulse buy less. I am that person that goes to the store for paper towels and will leave with ten other things and forget paper towels… so time and convenience aside, this service has just helped me be more organized and focus on what we actually need!

Do you use Walmart’s Online Pickup and Delivery service? I have a feeling we’ll be using it even more once we move in and baby comes… bring on all the diapers lol!

I hope this post was helpful and let me know in the comments if you have any questions! By the way I’m wearing the maternity tank I’ve been living in the last couple of months and this plaid shirt is from last year (both Walmart!).

I do prefer the delivery but with the setup they have it does not always work correctly. Spark drivers do the shopping. My understanding from corporate is they have to check-in to show Spark shopping for customer and they get a scanner with the list of items. They weigh if need be, scan, and bag. They have to check-out and the scan tool is run through the check-out process to ensure all items on customers list were shopped for and the unavailable items are noted. The delivery takes place. I do a two week menu and will set my phone to delay 30 minutes from 2 minutes to go through my list to make sure I received everything. With every delivery I am almost always missing something and it is not the unavailable items. Today, I was missing my Feta cheese, My Rana Gnocchi, six scallions, and four blueberries. I tried to do the refund but it would not accept this many items. I ended up doing three refunds to make it all go through. I had to updated my menu list noting items missing and have to go buy these items after work to complete my menu along with the unavailable items. My concern is where are my items? They were shopped for because otherwise it would have noted unavailable. One of three theories. One-delivered to someone else because they have more than one order in the vehicle. Two-still in the vehicle missed by driver. Three-purposely kept by the driver. In all my refund was $38 and some change. Imagine if a single driver has 10 deliveries a day with an average of $38 per customer in refunds for missing items. That is $380 per day for one driver. The driver works five days a week. That is $1900 in refunds for missing items a week. I sincerely hope Walmart is maintaining this information in a database somewhere and running reports so they can stop whatever is going wrong. 52 weeks in a year $98,800 in refunds for missing items just for one driver. If I was the CFO, I would be all over this.
